Southern Healing was created for the athlete, the work-a-holic, the injured, the everyday person. Southern Healing is a perfect blend of medical massage, southern hospitality and personal care to help you get your body and mind back on track with your life.
I studied and obtained an Associates in Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City. I am licensed to practice Massage Therapy and all modalities that fall under the scope of that practice in the state of New York and also Nationally Certified by the NCBTMB to work throughout the country.
I am originally from South Georgia where grace, charm, respect and love are key elements in every person's life. Caring about and for others was always something that my parents taught me was an important part of life and that if I could make a difference, do it.
I grew up dancing and playing sports from age 3, most of the time doing so while injured in some way, until graduating high school when I then went on to study dance in college. I attended Oklahoma City University and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. On my graduation day, my grandfather had a stroke. For the next few months before heading out into the world as a performer, I spent the days helping my PaPa with his physical therapy. I knew from that moment on that I not only wanted to perform, but I wanted to help people recover from illness, injury and/or maintain a healthy lifestyle. I could see the difference it made in his life and I wanted to be able to do that with others.
After 10 years of performing and traveling the world, I have experienced multiple injuries and stress beyond belief. I know what it feels like to be in pain, to be too tired, to be unable to carry on the easiest of daily tasks. I believe that these experiences and my training from the Swedish Institute of New York gives me the knowledge to help those in need of a little peace and relaxation.
