I have been in the Social Work field since 1997, with employment experience at the Missoula Pre-Release Center, Mountain Home Montana, State of Montana Child Protection Services, and Acadia Health Care (CSCT). My overall approach is to offer therapeutic mental health care to all ages, with an emphasis on holistic self-care, and basic emotion management and coping skills. I believe strongly in the power of relationships, and that developing a trusting relationship with your therapist is paramount to overall progress and change. Additionally, awareness and treatment of the mind/body connection is often incorporated into my work.
I am currently seeking certification in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), which is an evidenced based technique for children ages 2-7, that involves parental coaching with play therapy to improve the parent child relationship, and implement effective discipline techniques. See www.pcit.org for more information.
