How do I Discover My totem Animals?
I have been taught that we each have 9 totem animals Plus 2 that each "walk" on our right or male side and our left or female side. note: i find it interesting also that when working with any kind of energy I was taught the Energy enters us on our left side (closest to our heart) and "exits" through our right side. I was further taught that when gifting someone especially gifts that are Spirit(ual) in nature or made with Intent for a specific individual be given left to left hand while clasping with the right hands. This ... Read More
My Bear Totem
My Bear Totem is my Right Totem and protects my male side, my Warrior spirit. Bear is a great protector and "mine" walks right along my right side. The strength of Bear medicine is the power of introspection. It lies in the West on the great medicine wheel of life. Bear seeks honey, or the sweetness of truth, within the hollow of an old tree. In the winter, when the Ice Queen reigns and the face of death is upon the Earth, Bear enters the womb-cave to hibernate, to digest the year's experience. It is said that our goals ... Read More
My Totem the Red-Tailed Hawk
As I have been taught although we have other Totem Animals I work the Most with my Right Side and Left Side Totem Animals. They tend to help me regain/keep my Balance as I work ever Inward ~And therefore Outward (LOL). The Right side is my Protector of my "male" Side. It represents my Warrior Spirit and Courage. The Left side is my Protector of my "female" Side. It represents Receiving Abundance and Nurturing Others. So I am flanked with Bear on my right Side & Red Tailed Hawk on my left Side. Read More

The Sweat Lodge an Introduction
The Native American Sweatlodge A Spiritual Tradition A Crow sweat lodge.--Museum of the American IndianThe Sweat Lodge Ceremony, now central to most Native American cultures and spiritual life, is an adaptation of the sweat bath common to many ethnic cultures found in North and South America, Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, and Africa. It was prompted by the influence of European culture with its corrupting effect on native culture. With the introduction of alcohol and the inhumane treatment of native people, the need to re-purify themselves and find their way back to traditi... Read More
The Circle
The Sacred CircleYou have noticed that everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the power of the world always works in circles, and everything tries to be round. In the old days all our power came to us from the sacred hoop of the nation and so long as the hoop was unbroken the people flourished. The flowering tree was the living center of the hoop, and the circle of the four quarters nourished it. The east gave peace and light, the south gave warmth, the west gave rain and the north with its cold ... Read More
